My work often responds to specific time and space and playfully subverts the notion of situation as part of our day-to-day experiences. I document, collect, construct and deconstruct the everyday and extend it by breaking the conventional system of classification.
CHEN Sai Hua Kuan (b. 1976) lives and works in Singapore and Berlin. He graduated with a Master in Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, in 2007. He exhibited extensively, at venues that include “Singapore Eye”, (2015,Saatchi Gallery, London); ‘Sound of the Earth’ (2013, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Japan); ‘Countershadows ,Tactics in Evasion,(2014 Institute of Contemporary Arts, Singapore); ‘Moving Image New York 2014”, New York, The United States); ‘If the World Changed”, The Singapore Biennale (2013, Singapore Art Museum,Singapore);‘EV+A’ (2010, Ireland); ‘Moscow International Biennale for Young Art’ (2010, Russia); “Busan International Short Film Festival”, (2010 Busan, South Korea); ‘14th Media Art Biennale WRO’ (2011, Poland); ‘Luleå Art Biennial’ (2011, Sweden), and “International Festival for Arts and Media Yokohama 2009” (2009, Yokohama, Japan).
