Takt Academy is proud to present as part of the Takt Talk series: Jay Shinn
Jay Shinn’s work is derived from an ongoing exploration of a variety of processes and materials, thus expanding upon a vocabulary based on geometric abstraction. Physical and illusionistic elements intuitively merge to create a dichotomy of questions about reality.
Recent exhibitions include: Jordan/Seydoux, Berlin; la Couleuvre, Paris; Louise Alexander Gallery, Porto Cervo Italy; Knoerle-Baettig, Winterthur Switzerland; Leila Heller Gallery, Theodore Art, and Mixed Greens, NYC; Barbara Davis Gallery, Houston, TX; Marty Walker Gallery, Dallas, TX; Kunstverein Neukölln, Berlin; UCCS, Colorado Springs, CO.
Shinn’s works are part of public and private collections in the US and Europe. He lives and works between Dallas, TX and New York City, and spends a considerable amount of time in Berlin since his 2010 residency at Takt.
