Hadass Gilboa (born 1983 in Israel, grew up in Belgium) is a drawing, etching and video artist. Her work is based on narrative thinking and draws its meaning from a sense of perversion on the one hand and humor and empathy on the other. Gilboa creates images which tell stories ranging from total fiction to urban legends with a hint of the truth. The feeling of passing time is very much present in her work, even though not always trivially so. Having come from an animation background, Gilboa’s works are layered and intentionally created as series. The sequences offer an elusive story line or present a gallery of characters involved in a plot Gilboa has began to weave, but left loose ended for the viewer to complete.
