Takt Artist Residency is based in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, Leipzig Lindenau (Saxony)and Zeitz (Saxony-Anhalt)

Berlin

Prenzlauer Berg is a very tranquil and beautiful area. Over the years many artists chose Prenzlauer Berg as their residence. The Takt Studios and our showroom TAPIR now are located near to Mauerpark, one of the most attractive Berlin meeting points presenting a mixture of Berlin Wall monument, public hangout, flea market and live music events.

Leipzig

The studios are situated in Leipzig-Lindenau. Lindenau, near to the centre, is a culturally vibrant quarter with 8 theatres, the famous art center Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei and other interesing art venues. Our studios are near to the Karl Heine Canal, a chilling place for everybody.
In the northern quarter Gohlis we run our showroom ARMADILLO.

Zeitz

SOLITUDE in Zeitz is the youngest venue of Takt.

SOLITUDE is a small artist residency, that gives space for 2 artists or 2 artist couples. We offer two comfortable apartments under the roof and two studios in the same building.

SOLITUDE is the perfect place to focus on your creative process without distractions.

Zeitz is located in eastern Germany, Saxony-Anhalt, near to Leipzig.

Its younger history is not untypical for some towns in the GDR, which lost significant parts of their economic base and, as a result, their population, which fell from 55,000 to 27,000 after German reunification.
Zeitz, a town steeped in history, once a bishopric and princely seat, later home to various industries (strollers, chocolate, sugar, piano making, foundries, metalworking, etc.)

Sights include Moritzburg Castle and its park, the old monastery, the underground Zeitz, St. Michael’s Church, the Würltzer Milbenkäse factory, the Hermannschacht briquette factory, Posa Monastery, the Posa Winery, and the Franciscan Monastery Church.

For a long time, Zeitz has been an economically and culturally flourishing town, and the traces of this era can still be seen in the townscape. Here we see architectural testimonies of remarkable beauty, some freshly renovated, some threatened by decay.

And at the same time there are signs of a new beginning. Zeitz has been discovered by cultural workers who are becoming increasingly visible in the townscape. The old and the new stand side by side.
In recent years, an interesting art scene has been established in Zeitz. Takt Zeitz and Solitude are part of it.

 The studios: each 15 sqm

The appartments: each 43 sqm
