Alternating between writing and visual work, her work focuses on individual stories as inspiration for community engagement. She uses photography, writing and oral histories as a means to educate and transform ideas. Her training as a professional writer and her degrees in fine art and art history inform her artwork and her work as an academic. Ongoing projects include a Racial Equity Project at Shunpike.org and a Jazz History Project at the Seattle Public Library. Grants/awards include: Jack Straw Studios, 4Culture.org, Office of Arts & Culture & Awesome Foundation Seattle. She’s shown at; Museum of Northwest Art Washington, the Gage Academy and Hampshire College, Massachusetts.
