Kayla is an illustrator from Toronto Canada. She is motivated by surrealism, big noses and making people chuckle at her “Nuknuk” character. Kayla often uses these characters to parody societal norms in attempt to expose flaws in humanity. During her time at Takt she took a break from these illustrations to paint. Her paintings can be described as bright colourful collages. Although the paintings are very different than her previous work, she continued to use surrealist imagery while challenging beauty norms.
