Kate Gies is a writer, activist, and educator living in Toronto, Canada. She teaches creative nonfiction, expressive arts, and public speaking at George Brown College. Her fiction, non-fiction, and poetry have been published in both Canada and the U.S. Her writing often blurs the line between humour and horror, the mundane and the surreal. Her style could be described as lyrical, sparse, and imbued with political undertones.
