Editorializing views should popularize issues and concerns, no matter the complexity or obscurity of the issues are discerned. Aestheticizing the views is one choice an artist can opt for but this runs the risk of beautifying the ugly. Ponficating on the views via images,forms, colors, textures also to serve to anaesthecize the viewers’ senses to the point of apathy and may only serve to sweep the headline news to the obituary or cartoon section. The tragedy in today’s Philippine events is perhaps the comic way that important and deeply rooted problems are dismissed as something that one could simply wish away.
