The Residency Program is 3 months of artist critiques, life drawing, artist talks, individual mentoring, Berlin studio visits and a curated group exhibition.

Shorter periods of 1 or 2 month(s) is also possible.

Takt invites a variety of artists looking for diversity, across all mediums, and ranging from the emerging to the established. We promote a structure to focus, engage and work. There is no age bias at Takt. Our doors are open to all disciplines including: visual arts, painting, sculpture, ceramics, performing arts, textile art, literature, new media, animation, printmaking, curatorial studies, arts administration, film making, architecture, design, dancers, musicians, playwrights and more.

Takt’s group critiques with our curator and artist Takt Talks aim to encourage, share and engage the residents together. To support, not compete. Takt is primarily English-speaking.

Takt Artist Residency is based in Friedrichshain & Prenzlauer Berg:

Friedrichshain: a known slice of Berlin’s street-cred; stuffed with bars, cafes, restaurants and pocket parks. It’s a stone’s throw to Boxhagener Platz weekend markets and Frankfurter Allee’s old Stalin era architecture.

On the flip side, Prenzlauer Berg is a very tranquil and beautiful area. We invite writers’ and digital media artists here.

Takt Artist Residency was founded by Antje Görner and Marcus Ahlers in 2007.
