Presence, the time of all events, is lighting up, oscillating between Herakles' Columns and parallel worlds. Right behind the curtain however, time collapses providing fertile groundfor creating alternative worlds, orchestrating their surge and surrender.
Attempts to decode events that happen in the space-time continuum may yield results, depending on the viewer's momentum and the presence of mass respectively energy.

Takt Artist Residency Berlin introduces their Mentoring Programme, presenting work by the following Mentors:

The Mentoring Programme was introduced in 2015 to support and expand the residency experience of the visiting Takt artists from around the world. The network of artist mentors has been growing since then. Regular studio visits in our mentors' studios have become a vital part of the Takt programme. In addition to the one-off studio visit, Takt residents are encouraged to book so-called tandem mentorings. The tandem mentorings provide the residency artists with a more intensive professional and personal tutoring with a special focus on the residency artist's individual work processes and/or conceptual development.

Statement
In my artistic work I am working on a variety of ways with pictorial representations, I draw on different topics. An example. I painted images to the literature of Franz Kafka, Heinrich Heine and James Joyce.
Biography
pedda Borowski, born in 1956, since freelance artist, painter and designer. Lives and works in Berlin. I am interested in music and fine arts as well. This causes including interdisciplinary art projects with musicians, dancers and other artists in which I use for the production of my picture media like overhead projectors, beamers or simple pencils.
1994 "come and keep me mine 'CD project with musician Barbara Buchholz. 2000, 'Space hotel', performance with musician Xu Fengxia, from 2004 'theremin_russiawithlove' project with the theremin virtuoso Barbara Buchholz.

Christine Cheung
Statement
My work has dealt largely with collective memory and perceived mythology through the visual representation of places. These works, often drawings and paintings, refer to questions of freedom, daily anxieties, and the impermanence of life. Using a wide variety of mediums, I attempt to encapsulate the world through the lens of a migratory and transitory viewpoint. Using a vocabulary of mark-making including accidental and controlled gestural, abstract expressionist as well as minimalist approaches, alongside found objects, video and installation, I am interested in complicating identity and nationalism, and drawing attention to the simultaneous duality of the individual and collective gaze.
Biography
Christine Cheung is an artist and curator living in Berlin. Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, Ms. Cheung is a recipient of the Joseph Beuys Scholarship at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Canada and numerous grants and awards. Her work is shown internationally, including as part of the permanent collection of the Sørlandet Art Museum in Norway. She has been featured on CBC Radio, the Globe and Mail and Kunst magazine. She had a solo show at Trondheim kunstmuseum in Norway. Her work tries to exemplify the act of letting go, or something quite like it.

Tina Hopp
Statement/Biography
Tina Hopp is a visual artist born in Germany in 1977. She studied Fine Art and English in Germany before moving to Ireland in 2006. Tina received her BA in Art and Design as well as her BA Honours Degree in the West of Ireland, where she lived and worked between 2006 and 2012. Her recent work centres around relationships between what we see and what we know and explores perceptional and memory-related issues. The transformative potential of additive and subtractive processes is a recurring theme in her work. Group shows include Sensory Threshold at 126 Gallery (Galway, 2011), Rundgang and Kreuzgang - annual HB55 member shows (Berlin, 2012, 2013) and her solo show at kunstraum tapir in Berlin (2014). Tina Hopp lives and works in Berlin.

Tina Hopp, geboren 1977 in Bonn, studierte in Deutschland Bildende Kunst und Anglistik bevor sie ihr Studium der Freien Kunst in Irland fortsetzte. Von 2006 bis 2012 lebte und arbeitete sie in Galway, Westirland. Dort studierte sie im Studiengang Art and Design, den sie mit einem BA Degree und anschließend dem Honours Degree in Fine Art abschloss. In ihren Arbeiten beschäftigt sie sich mit Wechselwirkungen zwischen dem "was wir sehen" und dem "was wir wissen". Sie untersucht die Rolle von Wahrnehmung und Erinnerung im Entstehungs- und Rezeptionsprozess von Bildern. Im Zuge dessen werden additive und subtraktive Bildverfahren eingesetzt und gleichzeitig zum Untersuchungsmaterial für die jeweilige Fragestellung. Ihre Arbeiten waren zu sehen unter anderem in Gruppenausstellungen wie Sensory Threshold (Galway, 2011) und den Jahresausstellungen der Kunstfabrik HB55 (Rundgang, 2012 und Kreuzgang, 2013), sowie ihrer Einzelausstellung im kunstraum tapir (Berlin, 2014). Tina Hopp lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.

Isolde Krams
Statement/Biography
For most of her artistic career, Isolde Krams has been working from a feminist perspective. Now her focus has shifted to a concern for the preservation of nature, animals and the earth. Her strong personal interest in conservation and environmental issues has resulted in the use of environmentally sound materials and found objects. They vary from rubber to her dog’s combed excess fur and recycled shopping bags. In Unfamiliar Turf, for instance, an abandoned garden umbrella was used to fashion an elephant’s tusks. Krams has devised a technique in which she uses rubber latex to give her sculptures a skin-like quality. Works made from this material are soft, light, tactile and psychologically charged. These metamorphosed images use wit and irony.
Since 2000 she has been working on a series of over life-sized fish that have been taken out of their natural environment and are bound and gagged. These fish are “out of water”, symbolising man’s misappropriation, pillaging and even misunderstanding of nature. (One of these fish was recently purchased by the Oliewenhuis Art Museum and another, Out of Water, by the Absa Bank Gallery, South Africa).
In 2004 Krams ventured into art-film making with: “It’s so beautiful it almost looks artificial” and “Miss Lelarap Raw”. These characters of Miss World, Mensch and Schweinehund which were developed for the film, have since appeared at various places in South Africa and Germany. At present Krams is grappling with the idea of female eroticism which has culminated in a representation of human forms and figures.

Isabel Rock
Statement/Biography
Isabel Rock is a creator of contemporary fairy tales. Her work is an explosion of strange occurrences while a surreal narrative takes the audience on a journey into the imagination. Taking inspiration from Japanese woodblock prints and Indian miniature painting Rock has developed a unique collage technique that combines bold structures with large-scale woodblock prints and intricate detailing. The subject is a grand mixture of humour, drama, hidden morals, fanciful characters, modern culture, mythical beings and fantastical situations. Rock creates a world that pulls you in and demands your attention. Quality of line is paramount, the drawings are created using a dipping pen and acrylic ink or a squirrels hair brush found on her travels which can only be bought in India.
Born in Hammersmith, London in 1981, Rock’s destiny was to be an artist. Studying Fine Art Printmaking at The University of Brighton and graduating with First Class Honours in 2004 she went on to do a Masters Degree at The Royal College of Art in London, continuing her studies in printmaking and drawing, graduating in 2008. Her first solo show at Bearspace Gallery in Deptford, London in April 2009 sold out and was the beginning of a career that continues to rise. Rock participated in the first ever India Art Summit, now the India Art Fair, where her detailed and intricate work was met with great appreciation from collectors and public, she continues to exhibit there. From 2009 Rock worked from a studio on the home farm in a wildlife field of rabbits and deer. In the following four years of creativity she participated in international residencies in India, Iceland, Germany and West Africa as well as building up her portfolio and exhibiting at various galleries internationally.
In 2013 she won the Arts Foundation Printmaking Fellowship, a £10,000 award given to emerging artists in certain fields, only six are awarded each year. This funded a move to Berlin and the opportunity to take a Japanese woodblock print course. The vibrant art scene in the city seemed to be the perfect place to make the next steps in her career and has proved to be a valuable creative inspiration. Alongside the visual images you can now experience the written side of Rocks work in the form of short stories which she performs at events and are always received with much hilarity. Rock is currently based in Berlin creating ever fantastic artworks.

Alice Stokes
Statement
Silver gelatin is a series of drawings copied from early 20th century crime photography. Ordinary people charged for minor misdemeanours, who are not unlike you or I. On first impression silver gelatin appears as blank pieces of black paper. It is only on approach when the light catches the graphite, that the subjects emerge from the crowd. There is no great conceptual manifesto here, more a curiosity into who you or I think we are: good or bad, someone or no-one.
Biography
Australian artist and art writer, b.1987, based in Berlin. Alice Stokes studied at the National Art School (Australia) in photography and sculpture with Honours in drawing and recently completed a Masters of Art Curatorship at the University of Sydney. Over the past 10 years, Stokes has participated in various group exhibitions and worked in Arts Administration throughout various Contemporary Art Centres and Galleries. Stokes’s recent efforts concentrate on drawing and freelance art writing under the newly inaugurated artsaidberlin online publication.

Ralf Tekaat
Statement
Ralf Tekaat describes himself as a drawer and he focuses on paper work. In his huge pencil drawings several layers of hatchings create slowly objects. In his wall installations there is a more a kind of story telling. They are about his roots and horizons: from where do he comes, by which things he was and still is characterized. Which are his references? Who are the people who did and do influence him. Charles Taylor names all this “Sources of the self”.
Biography
Ralf Tekaat was born 1970 in Bobingen, Bavaria. He studied Visual Communications at the University Of Applied Sciences, Münster and finished there 1997 with diploma. From 1997 to 2002 he studied Visual Arts at the University Of The Arts Bremen in the classes of Wolfgang Schmitz and Paco Knöller.
2002 after graduation he integrated the master class of Paco Knöller. Since 2005 he had several lectureships at the University Of The Arts, Bremen. From 2012 to 2013 he had a lectureship at the University Bremen. He lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
