am the recipient of the 2021 Margaret Stonewall Woolddridge Hamblet Award Grant, which provides funds for travel and research culminating in a solo exhibition at Vanderbilt University in January 2023. With this grant I have proposed a year of artistic research and practice in Berlin. I intend to exhibit the work and ideas I develop at Takt in this upcoming show. Specifically, I hope to explore more 3D sculptural work. Currently, my found-object works all hang or sit on a flat plane; I hope to pursue the same concepts as outlined in my statement, but push myself to engage my materials in a 3D space. My choice of material will reflect the cultural and geographical environment in Berlin, while remaining grounded in my philosophical interests outlined in my statement.
