I practice video and installation art. Through art and theory, I am researching on our ways of living and the connection between us and our environment. I question, what does it mean to be alive and what is consciousness? Opposing forces such as freedom versus restriction, self versus others, and the concept of time and space intrigues me.
I am drawn to working with tactile materials, pre-existing space, field recording, and moving image. The past years, I built images out of nails and continuously strung lines. By animating the installations through lights and shadow; it challenges the audiences’ perception of physical and non-physical existence. With film and sound design, the still elements of the installations are transformed into moving objects and the contained emotions are brought to life.
