In the mind’s eye | Martijn Meijer

Martijn Meijer

‘Somewhere between literature, philosophy and autobiography lies the area where my writing takes place. I like to combine fiction and essay, narration and reflection. My texts are often fragmented and open so that they can assimilate disparate elements: thoughts, quotes, observations, dreams. I prefer to write from a personal standpoint. The reader feels that they enter another consciousness and look into the world with a stranger’s eyes.’

Martijn Meijer is a writer and philosopher from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2014 he published Moeilijk te geloven dat ik echt besta (Hard to Believe I Really Exist), a collection of essays that revolve around the moment one looks in the mirror and wonders who that person is.
