Join us for the following talks at TAPIR Gallery on January 19th 7pm:
Hadar Cohen // Jerusalem in Exile
Jerusalem In Exile is a psychosomatic film on the political and spiritual reality of Jerusalem through performance art. The film researches the body as a space of action moving through dimensions of oppression and liberation. It is a multi-dimensional pursuit to coalesce psychoanalysis, politics, spirituality, art, sound, ritual, writing and dance.
The film offers a political and psychological critique of the collective invisibilization of the occupation of Palestine through examining the Israeli narrative of conquest. With a focus on Jerusalem, the film documents how the city itself becomes a function of exile and dreams up what it would take to liberate Jerusalem from exile.
Come join for a talk with the artist on the production of this project, the experience of exile, and a discussion on displacement. This talk will center art as a medium for political and spiritual transformation.

Mojdeh Rezaeipour + Reis DeBruyne // a pomegranate, a rose: a multimedia installation
“a pomegranate, a rose” offers a window into the sacred through a language of immersive installation that incorporates sound, sculpture, light and shadow, the elements, and the body. Here, inside the belly of a pomegranate, peeling back the petals of a rose, we ask: what is a feeling; where does it hurt; how can we turn poison into medicine; is it now yet?
You may also join for the opening of the exhibition on Friday January 17th at TAPIR project space.
